Community:
The parishes of Bradford, referred to Bradeford in the Doomsday Book, and Cookbury are in the District Council of Torridge and are situated approximately five miles from the market town of Holsworthy.Rural and widely spread, covering approximately 5900 acres, the community has no focal point but is made up of several small hamlets. The parishes have a joint electorate of approximately 400 and a total population approaching 500 including children of all ages. Of just over 200 homes in the community there are some 40 farm holdings.
